The update to this product is in response to the Joint Press Release entitled "Interest Rate Risk Management - Frequently Asked Questions" dated January 12, 2012 that provides responses to questions received following the issuance of the Interagency Advisory on Interest Rate Risk (IRR) Management on January 6, 2010.  The responses address IRR exposure measurement and reporting, model risk management, stress testing, assumption development, and model and systems validation.  Financial institution management should consider the responses in the context of their institution's complexity, risk profile, business model, and scope of operations.

The update to these products is in response to guidance issued by the CFPB entitled "Transfer of Rule Making Authority - Regulation DD" and "Transfer of Rule making Authority - Regulation E" dated December 21, 2011 which transfers rule making authority for Regulations DD and E to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from the Federal Reserve.  In addition, these updated products contain guidance in response to the CFPB Announcement entitled "A Guide to CFPB's Supervision" issued on October 13, 2011 that provides a guide for bureau examiners to use in overseeing companies that provide consumer financial products and services.

The updated Regulation E Policy Template also contains guidance from the CFPB entitled "Protect Consumers Sending Money Internationally" dated January 20, 2012 that adopted a rule that will increase protections for consumers who transfer money internationally.  Under the new rule, remittance transfer providers will generally be required to disclose the exchange rate and all fees associated with a transfer so that consumers know exactly how much money will be received on the other end.  The rule also requires remittance transfer providers to investigate disputes and remedy errors.
