The update to this product is in response to the Federal Reserve Policy Statement entitled "Rental of Residential Other Real Estate Owned Properties" dated April 5, 2012 which reminds banking organizations and examiners that the Federal Reserve's regulations and policies permit the rental of residential other real estate owned (OREO) properties to third party tenants as part of an orderly disposition strategy within statutory and regulatory limits.

The update to this product is in response to the Federal Reserve Press Release entitled "Final Rule to Regulation D to Simplify the Administration of Reserve Requirements" dated April 5, 2012 which announced a final rule to simplify the administration of reserve requirements and reduce administrative and operational costs for depository institutions and Federal Reserve Banks.

In addition, the update to the Regulation Z Policy Template contains guidance issued by the CFPB entitled "Payments to Loan Originators Based on Mortgage Transaction Terms Under Regulation Z" dated April 2, 2012 which further clarifies the payment of compensation to loan originators under Regulation Z.
